The realization of the project “Right to Work for Everyone” began on April 1st, 2019 in the Mitrovica region. The project was financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and supported by the Danish Refugee Council. Non-governmental organization Center for Lifelong Learning Lighthouse is implementing the project. The goal of the project “Right to Work for Everyone” is to provide equal opportunities for education and employment for members of marginalized social groups living in the Mitrovica region. The realization of the project will contribute to the empowerment of Roma population as well as members of other marginalized groups in this area.

Marginalized categories of citizens do not have equal opportunities for development and progress in society. As a result most of the Roma people are at a low educational level. This is characterized by long-term exclusion from the labor market. Roma people represent a category with the highest risk of social exclusion. Additional educational programs and specialized trainings for marginalized social groups in this region are organized occasionally and do not provide continuous education and training for work.

Specialized Courses

During the lifetime of the project, “Right to Work for Everyone”, the Center for Lifelong Learning Lighthouse will organize the following specialized courses: a course of woodworking and plastic processing that includes theoretical and practical part; marketing and accounting course; course for writing CV and motivation letters; life skills training that includes English language course and computer training. By the end of the project, twenty participants will finish the course of wood and plastic processing. Twenty other participants will  complete the  marketing and accounting course. All participants of the two courses will be able to attend life skills training that will include an English language course and computer training. By the end of the program, students will learn how to write a CV and motivation letter.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to meet potential employers and submit their work biographies. Non-governmental organization Center for Lifelong Learning Lighthouse will organize meeting with employers at the premises of the organization in Mitrovica.

The courses and trainings will be organized in Mitrovica, in the premises of the Center for Lifelong Learning Lighthouse. The practical part of the training will be organized in the workshop of Social Enterprise “Veza”
